For years I’ve had the itch to start a brand new account. I’ve had so many shifts over the years: -Fitness. -Lifestyle. -Social media strategy. And now motherhood. And while I didn’t want to completely pivot this account into mom content, I also didn’t want to ignore this new part of my life either. So I started a second account. (👋 hi @Jera Bean in ATX!!!) Partly as a creative outlet. Partly as a potentially strategic business experiment. I’ve been doing brand deals for almost a decade, and one thing that’s changing quickly in the creator industry is that brands increasingly want to see affiliate performance, not just followers or reach. So I decided to approach this new account differently by building affiliate data from day one and seeing what happens. I had no solid expectations, but the results from the first month of affiliate links honestly surprised me in a good way! Since so much is up in the air for me currently as I step into this brand new chapter and identity shift, there’s so much I’m figuring out in real time. I figured, why not build in public, take yallz along for the ride, and share my findings along the way?! So, I’ll break down the numbers from month 1 in my next post!
