The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Nepal and China passed 1,000 on September 1st, according to authorities, as rescue teams worked to reach communities cut off by the disaster. Nepal’s disaster agency said nearly with 4,000 people are missing, including 583 foreigners. Nepalese authorities said 30 British nationals were among those unaccounted for, while Chinese state media has said 15 people from Britain were among the missing foreigners in the country.
