Not everyone is benefitting from Obsession's massive box office success. Leonora Ann Darby is accusing Tea Shop Productions‘ co-founders James Harris and Mark Lane of cutting her out of her share of the film's profits. The lawsuit claims that Darby "rescued" the film by returning the film to director Curry Barker to allow him to have final edit, getting the film finished in time for Toronto International Film Festival (where it was eventually bought by Focus Features), and contributing to the film's plot, characters, and the use of the One Wish Willow as the movie's Monkey's Paw. It also says Harris and Lane "repeatedly breached and violated the 2024 agreement" they three had where they would share executive production credit equally. #obsession #movies #horror
