EA, the company behind EA SPORTS FC, The Sims, Battlefield and Mass Effect, has officially been sold in a deal worth around £41 billion. The gaming giant has been acquired by a Saudi-led investment group in one of the biggest deals the video games industry has ever seen. The consortium is led by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, alongside investment firms Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. EA says it will continue operating as normal under CEO Andrew Wilson, with work continuing across its biggest franchises including EA SPORTS FC, Battlefield, The Sims and the next Mass Effect.
