This lesson began with uppercase and lowercase block letters, but it quickly became a lesson about penmanship, capitalization, legibility, accountability, and even disposition. Students learned that first and last names begin with capital letters and that writing legibly allows a teacher to identify, grade, and return their work. By the end of class, they promised to capitalize their names correctly and make an effort to write legibly every day. What did they learn about my disposition?
