People ask “why I have a rattlesnake?” I actually have 2 But the reason I have the one shown in this video is that someone who took Spot from the wild and kept him for years decided he could no longer care for this snake. When a snake has been kept in captivity that long they can’t be released and likely would not survive long even if they were. Worse yet they can even threaten the safety of wild animals because he may have picked up diseases or pathogens in captivity that have not caused problems for Spot but could be spread to wild animals. For these reasons when I heard Spots owner planned on turning him loose I stepped up to take him in. I have had him for around 7 years now and consider him as much a part of the family as any other reptile I keep… Even if I have to be much more cautious with Spot and Bojangles than I have to be with my other reptiles. 😅 Thanks for watching! ✌️🦎 #Snake #wildlife #venom #animals #reptiles
