sign up for workshop just visit link in bio. Real practices, together, live. You'll get out of your head and into the actual work. I hope to see you soon! Smart people struggle in therapy, because they turn every session into a seminar about themselves, and their intelligence makes it look like progress. You show up prepared, you have insights from the week. You connect this week's issue to a childhood event, unprompted. Your therapist says you have remarkable self-awareness, and part of you collects that like a grade. The therapist asks, "Where do you feel that in your body?" And you say, "Well, I think it connects to my relationship with my father, because in third grade..." That was not the question, you answered a feeling question with a history lecture. You always do. Maybe like me, being articulate was how you earned attention, so you perform understanding even in the one room built for feeling. Maybe going into your head was how you left your body during the hard years, and it never felt safe to move back in. Maybe you are scared that if you actually drop into the feeling, you will not be impressive anymore, you will just be a person, crying. But here's the trap: insight collects in the part of you that talks, the wound lives in the part of you that feels. You can attend a thousand seminars about a room you have never once stepped inside. And here's the truth: the healing starts the day you stop narrating and let yourself feel it, with someone safe in the room. Not smart, not articulate, just present. That is the work your mind has been protecting you from, and it is the only work that changes anything. Let's become the first emotionally free and mature generation in our families.
