When I was a kid, I genuinely thought my biggest problem in life would be quicksand… Movies made it seem like it was everywhere. I was convinced I’d accidentally step into it one day and have to fight for my life. It’s funny looking back now, because the things that kept me up at night were so… small. Back then, life felt simple. The world felt bigger, but somehow lighter. There weren’t bills to pay, careers to build, relationships to navigate, health concerns, or endless responsibilities. Sometimes I miss that feeling. I miss waking up without my mind already racing. I miss laughing without worrying about tomorrow. I miss feeling free. As we get older, life has a way of piling things onto our shoulders. Stress, anxiety, heartbreak, loss, uncertainty… it can all become so overwhelming that we start believing this is just how life has to feel. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. You may never go back to being the carefree kid you once were, but you can find peace again. You can learn to breathe again. You can experience joy again. If you’ve been carrying more than you can handle, please don’t carry it alone. Talk to someone you trust. Reach out to a therapist. Speak with your doctor if anxiety or depression has become a daily battle. Asking for help isn’t admitting defeat… it’s choosing to fight for yourself. You deserve to feel lighter. Maybe we can’t go back to worrying about quicksand… but with time, support, and healing, we can learn to stop sinking under the weight of everything else. Better days are possible. Keep going. 💛 #anxiety #stress #stressed #depressed #mentalhealth
