🚨 @greenpeacenorge crashed the oil lobbyists’ secret party in Arendal! 🥂🔥 While the world is burning, the oil industry invited Norwegian politicians to a private party. This is how they sweet-talk politicians into opening up even more oil fields. In the melting Arctic, for example 🫠 And what’s worse: this exclusive, influence-peddling oil party is taking place during Arendalsuka, which is supposed to be an open democracy festival in Norway. Even “president Trump” stopped by, and he had plenty of praise for the Norwegian oil executives, as they fit right in with his club 💰💰🛢️🔥 The fossil fuel bosses aren’t thinking about the next heatwave or the next flood. They’re thinking about their next bonuses and next quarterly reports. We – and our children – are the ones who have to live with the consequences of their short-sighted decisions. Greenpeace Norway’s activists travelled to Arendal to be the peaceful party poopers. Their message was clear: the fossil fuel party is over! We need a rapid transition away from fossil fuels and big polluters must be held accountable for the damage they’re deliberately causing 😡 A handful of giant oil and gas corporations have put profits over the well-being of our families.
