Louise the Unfortunate In the mid-19th century, a young woman named Louise arrived via steamboat dressed for her upcoming. She searched for her fiancé, only to discover he had vanished (or died). Stranded without money or a way back home, she stayed in Natchez and reportedly worked various jobs, including in the rough waterfront district known as "Natchez-Under-the-Hill".
