Feeding Talia the saltwater crocodile!! She’s pretty good at following the food on the tongs and not trying to attack me (usually). She has incredible jumping agility, she reach up and bite me right in the face and I’m 6’5”! Thank you @Rodentpro for donating the rats! Saltwater crocodiles are the largest living reptiles on Earth, with males reaching lengths over 20 feet and weighing more than 2,000 pounds. Native to Southeast Asia, northern Australia, and surrounding regions, they are powerful apex predators capable of taking down prey as large as water buffalo. Despite their name, saltwater crocs don’t meed salt and live in both salt and freshwater habitats, including rivers, estuaries, and coastal swamps. They have the strongest bite force of any animal. She is in this smaller temporary enclosure until we can build her a large permanent home, and dealing with her in here is sketchy to say the least! Each of our large crocodilian enclosures cost around $20k, but we will hopefully get hers built up this year(hopefully).
