🎬 Behind The Scenes of Don Toliver’s “E85” with notes by @michael_keeper & @cameraonwings and @fred_north Michael Keeper notes👇 🚁 Executing long-lens air-to-air work in close proximity to @fred_north during an extraction sequence over LAPD HQ, with talent hanging from the helicopter skid, demanded an exceptional level of precision and coordination between flight crews, camera department, and stunt team. 📹 To achieve the live-news helicopter aesthetic, the team configured an ALTA X carrying a Sony cinema package paired with a Fujinon 21-300mm expanded to 31-450mm. 🎯 Capturing air-to-air footage at 450mm while coordinating multiple aircraft, stunt operations, and camera movement within shared airspace required a highly efficient and safety-focused workflow without compromising the creative vision. 📝 Notes from @fred_north Don Toliver was brave enough to perform the stunt himself, hanging from the helicopter skid during the sequence—after, of course, every aspect of the stunt had been thoroughly reviewed and validated with a professional stunt performer and safety team. 🍿 A huge thank you to these talented professionals for sharing their insights and experiences with the entire community.
