I had the incredible opportunity to join the ACLU on Capitol Hill to advocate for the Dream and Promise Act. Alongside thousands of advocates from across the country, I spoke directly with congressional representatives and their staff about why this legislation matters and why Dreamers deserve a permanent pathway to citizenship. Millions of Dreamers have grown up in the United States. They have gone to school here, built careers here, started families here, and contributed to the communities they call home. Yet many continue to live with uncertainty about their future. The Dream and Promise Act would provide permanent protection and a pathway to citizenship for people who were brought to the United States as children and have spent years contributing to this country.
