You asked for it, so I’m revealing what’s behind the minimally designed doors in my walk in closet. With everything tucked neatly behind parchment-clad panels, it’s almost impossible to grasp just how much depth and storage this space holds. We built in generous hanging areas, an abundance of drawers, and double-deep sections for shoes, while the space above the datum is reserved for longer-term storage—extra pillows, duvets, and more. And I love that a few eagle-eyed viewers noticed the upper “drawers” are actually paneled doors—just a little design trickery to maximize storage. Because the interior lacks natural light, I wanted to introduce a soft glow that highlights the tactility of the wallpaper wrapped room. To do that, we drew the eye upward with a custom interior skylight.
