This is Skippy💛 We found Skippy in the streets of Baja with 3 legs… what had happened to her was a mystery, one we would never know🥹 Although we couldn’t change what had happened to her, we could change what her life would be like from here on out! So we rescued her, we provided her the medical care she needed, but more importantly we provided her love, freedom and adventures! Because a life without those things is not living, it’s surviving. And Skippy deserved to LIVE!!!! We searched for the perfect forever home for Skippy and found it all the way up in Washington 🏡🫶🏼 The welcome home she received and how easily she transitioned into her new family gave us so much peace of mind that we truly had found her perfect forever home! You would never believe what happened next😱 We received a message on Instagram from a woman saying she knew Skippy… and she knew her ENTIRE history🤯 She told us Skippy had been hit by a car. Locals rallied around her, got her leg amputated and tried to find her a home😥 This woman and her husband eventually adopted her, but unfortunately it wasn’t a good fit. They say Skippy really struggled being confined… the scars on her face are from her trying to escape. So, they found someone else to take her, but she escaped from them and ended up back out on the street… until we found her!!💗 Discovering all of this was so crazy because it just does not sound like the dog we’ve gotten to know and love! A dog constantly trying to escape, scars all over her from trying to ditch family life. None of that sounds like our Skippy that follows us everywhere we go off leash & cuddles up in our camper so content! But I guess that just goes to show how the way we rescue really is the perfect bridge between street life and home life! Living in a camper the dogs get all the freedom they need while still having the comfort they crave! They learn to appreciate what it means to be part of a family and now Skippy lives in a home, one she doesn’t try to escape but one she absolutely loves and her forever family actually says it’s hard to get her to leave the house😂💕🥲
