Everybody exhale with me… 3, 2, 1 😮💨 Birdie is going to be JUST FINE! Better than fine actually, she’s going to be GREAT💕 The vets are really happy with Birdie’s overall health and expect her to make a FULL recovery!!! They’ve pinpointed the bacteria causing the infection and have her on the proper antibiotics to clear it right up! Her incisions have been closed back up again and the plan is to keep her hospitalized till next weekend!! By then her stitches will be ready to come out and after that, we will pick her up! She will not step one little Birdie foot outside of this hospital for the next week🫠 She’ll stay in a completely controlled environment where they can keep everything clean, monitor her constantly and give her body the chance to heal! As you can see, she has the most perfect little set up in the middle of the hospital where there is ALWAYS someone around. They sit in there with her during team meetings, people are constantly stopping to love on her, and basically she has an entire hospital staff wrapped around her little finger. Soooo… she’ll survive without us💗 Meanwhile, we’re heading back to Lake Tahoe for the week where we might actually get to reset and catch up on sleep and rest ourselves! My birthday is next week, so hopefully we can recover enough from the last few days of absolute insanity and do something fun🏔️🌊 And then we’ll come back to Los Angeles to pick up a completely healed Birdie who is ready to ROCK AND ROLL!!! This was a setback. That’s it. This girl will be swimming and FLYING around in those wheels before we know it🕊️ And seriously, THANK YOU to every single person who has contributed toward Birdie’s care. Being able to say YES to keeping her hospitalized for as long as she needs, surrounded by an incredible team and receiving this level of care is something we do not take for granted. We love you. We appreciate you. And we will keep you all posted! But really, at this point, there’s nothing to worry about! Our girl is safe and soon she will be living her BEST LIFE YET🌞
