⚡️⚡️Starting April 1st I’m reading The Odyssey for the very first time—Emily Wilson’s translation—and I want you to come with me. My motivation? Christopher Nolan’s adaptation hits theaters July 17th and I refuse to walk in without having read the book first. Wilson was the first woman to ever translate this poem into English, and her opening line—“Tell me about a complicated man”—gives us insight about what she’s doing differently.
