I wear 2 shirts when I travel. My gangster cat shirt or my Dolly shirt. Not only because they make me smile but they make other people smile. I can’t count the number times someone has seen my Dolly shirt and it put a smile on their face or they would say “I like your shirt”. But my favorite reaction which I think would’ve made Dolly laugh is a white person’s confusion and then understanding head nod that a black woman is wearing a Dolly Parton shirt. I know many white people have been confused at seeing the Black Community mourn Dolly Parton but the reason is simple. She loved us. She loved us loudly and proudly and we give that love right back. We miss you Dolly. And boo to Jolene.
