Women’s equality day started in DC with Margaret Atwood renowned author of the handmaids tale and fellow Masterclass Instructor and ended at the US open mixed doubles finals with my parents. I started at the Power Up conference with other leaders, physicians and feminists in DC at a meeting where we focused on how to continue to advance progress in women’s equality and equity via advancing health. When women are not supported in workplaces and women’s health issues like endometriosis and menopause are ignored, this impacts everyone, not just women. I ended the day in NYC after catching a train back to the city and met my parents and sister at the US open mixed doubles finals. It was so interesting to learn about leaders like Billie Jean King, who have made advances for human equity. It was also great to experience this with my parents who are huge tennis fans and love Serena Williams.
