I don’t expect this video to get a lot of traction, but I had to talk about this. I believe in genetic medicine with my whole heart, and I’ve devoted nearly 1/3 of my life to research in DNA editing. There is good news every day about this field, but it only takes one narcissistic, unethical, hubris-driven scientist misleading patients and weaponising gaps in regulation to result in a horrific tragedy like this one. Informed consent is paramount. There MUST be career-ending consequences for violating it. We need strict international regulation and we need it now. #stem #biology #medicine
