This is the one mistake that I wish I could take back. I often don’t like regretting things, because within those regrets, within those moments, shape you as a person. But this is the one thing that I wish I could take back. You see, when I started making over a hundred million dollars, I got petrified of losing it all. And what happens when you start to get fear? You start to overcorrect and try to keep what you have. So for example, if you really, really are fearing losing your partner, you might become clingy. If you fear becoming unhealthy, you might become so obsessive about what you’re eating to the point where you become unhealthy. With business, you get fear about losing all of that money, fear about losing all of that reputation. And it makes you do stupid things like launching 10 businesses because you’re like, one day this main business, it’s going to get taken away. So I need to be diversified. I need these other revenue streams to cover that. And the funny thing is, if you diversify, if you split all your focus on all of these other businesses, chances are that’s going to be the thing that kills you.
