When my business was doing around $10 million a year, someone offered to buy the whole thing off me. And I honestly nearly took it. Everyone was saying that wearable blankets, they’re a fad, take the money off the table now. And I believed them enough that I genuinely tried to sell in those earlier years. Then my business went to $100 million in sales. And you know what those same people did at $100 million in sales? They told me the exact same line. This is a trend. It’s going to go. Cash out now. Now I’ve done over a billion dollars in sales across my e-commerce brands, and they’re all still saying the same thing. So here’s what I actually learned. These people that you surround yourself with, make sure they genuinely, fundamentally have an understanding of the space that you’re in. Because if you’re listening to the people that actually don’t understand the space you’re in, they are going to set a ceiling that you subconsciously will feel like you’re hitting on a daily basis, and you’ll stop showing up with the full intensity. Sit back and ask yourself, what could this properly become if I backed it 100%? Then talk to people that have actually achieved the outcome that you’re trying to achieve, and ask them if they could see you getting there. Don’t listen to the loser’s advice.
