This is the cheese that I grew up with and it’s the traditional cheese that we use to make this recipe! If you visit Malga Montasio make sure you stop there for lunch, the food is MAMMA MIA 😋 Who is visiting Friuli Venezia Giulia soon? 😍 Ingredients: -1 tbsp lard (or olive oil) -1 onion -500g potatoes -250g mild Montasio cheese -250g aged Montasio cheese -a pinch of salt Cut your onion and potatoes into very small pieces then cook them with lard (or olive oil) in a pan over medium low heat for 10-15 mins or until soft. Add the cheese and cook until it’s completely melted and a crust is formed at the bottom of the pan. Flip your frico to the other side and cook for a couple more minutes.
