Preventing lithium-ion battery fires at home I was recently interviewed by @House Beautiful about this, and also wrote about it on my Substack. One of my biggest safety habits is that I don’t leave rechargeable products charging overnight, when I’m not home, or somewhere I can’t keep an eye on them. A few other things I do: • Check batteries, cables and devices for damage or swelling. • Buy replacement batteries and chargers directly from the manufacturer when possible, rather than taking a chance on third-party parts. These are also recommendations from the Fire Safety Research Institute (who I’ve worked with on lithium-ion battery safety awareness). #SafetyTips #HomeSafety #FirePrevention #batterysafety #reaction
