Today, Miami-Dade County Commissioners voted on an alternate location for a proposed incinerator and Commissioners Gilbert and McGee suggested the Jetport (now Alligator Alcatraz) Commissioner Gilbert said: “If we are thinking about old airports, there is one that we own out there that is not near any of our districts. It’s being used now, but my understanding is it won’t be used this way forever. So I think we should think about that.” Commissioner McGhee said: “Well, if the state and federal government have already decided that that site may be used for other purposes, then we should consider it as well.” Since the beginning, I’ve been worried that if we give them an inch, they’ll take 20 miles…and I’m already seeing it… Please contact both of these commissioners and tell them what a horrible idea this is…I’ll put their information for contact below in the comments. We appreciate any help we can get. You can call from anywhere in the world…after all…it’s the world’s Everglades…not the world’s trash incinerator location! #NoAlligatorAlcatraz
