The very first event of the Homemaking with Babs book tour felt especially meaningful because we held it right here at the Basket House. For the first time ever, we opened the doors and welcomed 60 of my online family inside to tour the home, hear some of its stories, and celebrate the book together. The Basket House is where so much of Homemaking with Babs was photographed, so beginning the tour here felt like the perfect way to bring everything full circle. And it reminded me of something I really wanted this book to capture: homemaking is about so much more than cleaning and organizing. Yes, it is about creating systems that make life easier, staying on top of home maintenance, building routines that work, and having seasonal checklists and practical tips to help you care for your home. But it is also about what happens inside that home. It is about gathering around the table, welcoming people in, feeding the people you love, celebrating together, and making your home a place people want to return to. That is why Homemaking with Babs also includes so much of what I have learned over a lifetime of hosting and entertaining, from how to set a table and the entertaining essentials I always keep on hand, to simple ways to spruce up for the season and even my trick for nearly doubling the size of your table when you need a few more seats. Because your home is meant to be cared for, but it is also meant to be lived in, gathered in, and shared. What a special way to begin this book tour and thank you @Birch Lane for making this such a special day! Homemaking with Babs is available now!!💕
