September is Suicide Prevention Month, and this one means a lot to me. Mental health has always been something I’ve cared deeply about because I know firsthand how real it is and how easily it can be overlooked. I’ve struggled with my mental health since I was 13. I’ve had nights where life felt extremely heavy. Nights where I felt completely alone, even when I had people around me. I’ve had thoughts creep into my head that I never thought I would have, and I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy. But I’m still here. Over the years I’ve found so much peace through therapy, my faith, fitness and especially running. None of those things make life perfect, and they don’t mean dark days never come. They’ve just helped remind me that a dark chapter is exactly that, a chapter. It isn’t the whole story. If you’re struggling right now, I just want you to know that you are loved. More than you probably realize. Life is going to have highs and lows. There are going to be moments where it feels impossible to see past what you’re going through. But please keep going. There is so much life on the other side of the moment you’re in right now. I truly believe there will come a day where you look back and think, “F*** yeah, I’m so glad I kept going.” And for everybody else, check on your people. Tell them you love them. Be there. Listen. Take the signs seriously. Sometimes the person who seems completely fine is fighting something you know nothing about. We could all do a better job of loving people a little harder. You are loved. You matter. And your story is not finished. 🖤 #suicidepreventionmonth #suicidepreventionawareness
