WHAT U DO B4 U STRIKE IS HOW U WIN… YOUR PLANT FOOT CHANGES THE PROBABILITY OF IMPACT. You can get almost everything wrong in your approach and still recover. But where you place your lead foot — the HAMMER — in the final moments before you initiate your SHIFT & SHOOT can dramatically change the probability of dominating the collision. We coach this through PLANT ZONES, determined by the width of the attacker’s base — measured from outside boot to outside boot. Between the boots is what we call the FRENCH KISS ZONE — “ALL IN.” It can work. But you’re entering the attacker’s mass directly, reducing your margin for error and increasing the risk to your own safety. High reward. High risk. ALL IN. The priority is the SMOOCH LINE. The SMOOCH LINE is the plant zone that attacks and disrupts the next step of your opponent’s run line. Placed correctly, it does more than improve tackle completion. It creates an angle that dissects the attacker’s VIOLENT INTENTION ROUTE, redirects their available mass, and shifts the collision probability back in your favour. Your approach isn’t simply about getting to the ball carrier. It’s about arriving in a position where their mass becomes something you can manipulate. MANIPULATE MASS. DON’T MEET IT. Placement creates the angle. The angle changes the probability. The probability changes the collision. Good luck. ✊ #coach #tackle #football #rugby@MG @NFL @l_mencho22
