This has been one of the most tragic weeks in mountaineering. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the 10 climbers on Broad Peak, alongside the countless efforts of the rescue teams. Their legacies will carry on, for future generations of climbers. I did not know any of them well, however I climbed with Gyalu Sherpa at times on Everest and he was incredibly friendly, kind, caring and strong. Nims was one of the most influential figures in modern mountaineering, and his loss will be felt across the entire mountaineering community. Mallory and Nadhira have been incredible role models and have shown generations what is possible and will continue to do so. Thinking of everyone whose lives have been changed by this tragedy. ❤️ The Juniper fund exists for times like these.
