Still relevant. I see so many opportunities where the women in this industry have to work unbelievably hard to get there, while the male makeup artists simply have the doors opened for them. I had an experience just recently where I was working with a bunch of the top women in my field, and the men who were working alongside us were consistently less qualified and less experienced whilst being given more prominent roles. Once you see it, you will never unsee it. The Barbie movie was an important moment to educate and remind us that equality doesn’t just magically happen, we need to fight for it.
