When I first started Skateboarding, it was just on a mini Ramp because as a blind person I felt like that was the easiest way to be able to map your path. Then about five years ago I met up with eight other Blind Skaters and it changed my life. I got to learn tips and tricks from them and how to skate more than just a mini Ramp. It’s crazy to think I’ve never actually seen what a Skateboarding trick looks like and I still figured out a way too do some of them despite being blind — fast-forward never thought I would be international doing a skate contest with some of the best in the game pushing forward adaptive Skateboarding!! The future for blind kids is as bright as they want it to be, and I hope I can be proof of that even if I didn’t land this three block or really any of my tricks during the actual contest that’s not what it’s about.
