Going into my second endometriosis surgery, I thought I knew what to expect… but I really didn’t. 💛 Since it’s Endometriosis Awareness Month, here are 3 things that honestly caught me off guard: 1️⃣ I didn’t realise I’d need physiotherapy just to feel “normal” again. I couldn’t even walk properly for the first two weeks post-op. Physio literally helped me relearn how to move, use my core, and feel like myself again. And nearly 2 years later… I’m still going. Healing is NOT a straight line. 2️⃣ Needing assistance at the airport was something I never saw coming. I’ve always been independent, so suddenly needing help felt really vulnerable. Even now, almost 2 years on, I still use it when I travel for work. I’m so grateful it exists—but it took time to accept that this is part of my reality. 3️⃣ I thought surgery would “fix” everything… but I’m still living with acute pain. That’s been one of the hardest things to come to terms with. Endometriosis doesn’t just disappear, and recovery looks different for everyone. If you’re going through this, you’re not alone. 💛 Be gentle with yourself—your body is doing its best. #endometriosisawareness #endometriosis #healingjourney #endometriosisuk #womenshealth
