
Your scalp is drooping your face! The scalp is connected through layers of fascia and the galea aponeurotica, the strong connective-tissue sheet spanning the top of the skull. When those layers lose their normal glide and become denser or less mobile, the whole scalp can start to feel almost “stuck” to the skull. And this is where hyaluronan becomes interesting. Research on fascia shows that hyaluronan, or HA, is present between fascial layers and helps those layers glide smoothly over one another. Changes in HA organization and connective-tissue density have been associated with reduced fascial sliding. This is why with this technique I’m not simply brushing scalp around hairline. I want you to find the deeper tissue and gently restore movement between the scalp and the structures underneath it. Can you grab and move your scalp easily? Or does it feel dense, tight and almost glued down in certain areas? That difference matters. Work slowly along the hairline and scalp. Deep does not mean hard.
