I’ve been ugly crying… like the kind of crying where I can’t even explain exactly what I’m feeling because it’s all hitting me at once. I knew this move was going to be hard, but I don’t think I understood just how emotional it would be until I started packing up my life. And the hardest part is that I’m not only feeling for myself. I’m feeling for my family. My friends. The people I love who I’m used to having close. I’m feeling for the people who love me and are watching me leave, too. And I’m even feeling for my dog. 🥺 Watching Zeus walk around confused, sniffing boxes, seeing everything slowly disappear around him… knowing he has no idea why his whole environment is changing or where we’re going. I know he has us and that’s his home, but I still can’t help but wonder what he’s feeling through all of this. It’s been HARD. I feel like I’ve been carrying everyone’s emotions on top of my own. There have been moments where I’m excited and grateful for everything ahead of me, and then five minutes later I’m crying because it hits me that I’m actually leaving. And I think that’s what I’m learning about change…Two things can be true at the same time. You can pray for a new chapter and still grieve the one that’s ending. You can know you’re making the right decision and still question how you’re going to handle it. You can be excited for a new home, new memories, new opportunities and a completely new life… while simultaneously wishing you could bring every person, and every familiar piece of your old life with you. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this many emotions at once. It feels like the closing of an entire era of my life. And maybe that’s why it hurts so much. But I also know that sometimes God calls you into something new before you feel completely ready to let go of what’s familiar. ’m letting myself feel all of it instead of forcing myself to only be excited. And as painful as this transition has been, I know I’ll look back one day and understand why I needed to take this step. For now, I’m just taking it day by day🤍
