Scruffaluffagus’s Story🐐 How do you summarize a life that meant so much in a single video… Our hearts are shattered. The sanctuary feels quieter. His little custom cottage sits empty. And we'd give anything to see those big, beautiful, majestic horns coming around the corner just one more time😭 Scruffaluffagus 🐐 A goat who had known hunger, heartbreak, and loss, yet somehow never lost his gentle, kind soul. This loss has been devastating. The reality is that, on top of losing him, in his final days we spared no expense trying to save him. The emergency care, diagnostics, medications, hospitalization, and treatments have left us with thousands of dollars in veterinary expenses. But when I think about those final hours, I don't think about the cost. I think about the goat who once stood beside his best friend on the side of a road and had nobody. And I think about how, in the end, he was surrounded by people who loved him. People who fought for him. People who refused to give up on him. A whole team of specialists worked through the night to make sure he was comfortable and cared for until his very last breath. To us, that was worth every penny. While our hearts are broken, I find so much comfort knowing that Scruffaluffagus got to experience something every animal deserves, but sadly not every animal gets. Safety. Love. Friends. Nutritious meals. And even a little cottage with custom horn holes that was built specially just for him.
