if the people that we’re quick to label “demonic,” “dirty,” or “too far gone” are the very people Jesus would’ve sat down and eaten with, maybe it’s time we ask ourselves who we’re actually becoming more like. and quick disclaimer: loving people in the world is not the same as being conformed to the world. this also isn’t an encouragement to compromise our convictions or give everyone close access to our lives. Scripture calls us to use wisdom about who influences us and to refuse to treat people who don’t know Jesus as if they’re too dirty to love. we can guard who shapes us without withholding love from those who need it. we’re called to be in the world, but not of it. firm in our convictions while still willing to sit at the table, love people well, and be a light wherever Jesus sends us. 🤍
