Before a recent trip to Shanghai, I wanted a quick way to learn useful Mandarin phrases for situations I’d actually run into. So while I was waiting for my flight, I connected Fish Audio to Claude and used Claude Code to build my own little Mandarin travel companion. I can choose a situation like an exhibition, restaurant, hotel, airport or shopping, and it gives me: • The Mandarin phrase • The pinyin • What it means • Audio so I can hear how it should actually sound • Transcription so I can practise saying it back The voice is powered by Fish Audio’s S2.1 Pro model, and I can even slow the audio down when I need to hear the pronunciation more clearly. What I like about MCPs is that you’re not just giving Claude access to another tool. You can take that capability and turn it into something specifically useful to you.
