A 4-hour self-drive tour with @wangandrive.official through Tokyo. Yellow R35 GTR, Shibuya to Tokyo Tower, expressway with a stop along the way, all the way down to Daikoku parking area, and back. Two guides run the experience and clearly know these cars, the rules are sensible without being restrictive, and they’re comfortable communicating in English so the language side never gets in the way. What sold me wasn’t just the car or the route, it was how much they trust you to enjoy it. You don’t feel managed, you feel like you’re driving. On the editing side, this one was also a personal first. I built the entire edit in DaVinci Resolve, which I haven’t done before. My usual setup is colour grading in Resolve then taking it into After Effects for speed ramps and the rest, just because that’s been comfortable for years. This was me testing whether I could keep everything in one program, while also blending handheld footage, quick cuts, and sound effects into my usual speed ramps and smooth pans.
